Who can apply
Study loans are available to Nedbank clients aged 18 to 24, who wish to study part-time or full-time at a recognised institution or university.
You will need:
- A Nedbank transactional account
- A registration letter from your chosen institution
- A valid Namibian ID or passport
- For second-year and later studies, additional loans may be granted once you provide proof of the previous year's academic results.
- A guarantor is required for your student loan.
In addition, you will need someone to sign surety for your student loan.
What is needed for surety?
A guarantor can provide surety (limited to N$60 000 a year) by submitting the following documents:
- Proof of income or latest salary advice (commission earners must provide 6 months' proof of income)
- ID or valid passport
- Marriage certificate or antenuptial contract (if applicable)
- Spousal documents (if married in community of property)
- Signed suretyship document with proof of collateral
- Registration letter from the institution
- Invoice from the tertiary institution for tuition fees
- Hostel accommodation invoice (if staying on campus)
- Rental agreement (if staying off-campus)
- Invoices for all other costs covered by the student loan
