How to buy forex

Go to any Nedbank Forex branch with the following documents. We recommend doing so at least a week before your travel date.

  • Valid passport

  • Valid ticket for departure from Namibia

  • Valid barcoded ID or smart ID

  • Proof of residence (if you are not a Nedbank client)
Limits and restrictions

The amount of money that can be taken out of Namibia for holiday or business travel is subject to exchange control limits set by the Bank of Namibia (BON).

  • Adults (18 or older) are allowed N$1 million a year for holiday travel.
  • Minors (under 18) are allowed N$200 000 a year for holiday travel.
  • An annual allowance of N$10 million is allowed for business travel.
