How to buy forex

Go to any Nedbank forex branch with the following documents. We recommend you do so at least a week before your travel date.

  • Valid passport

  • Valid ticket for departure from Namibia

  • Valid barcoded identity document or smart identity card

  • Proof of residence if you are not a Nedbank client
Limits and restrictions

The amount of money that can be taken out of Namibia when travelling for holiday or business is subject to Exchange Control Limits as set by the Bank of Namibia (BON).

  • Adults 18 years old or older are allowed N$1 million per year for holiday travel.
  • Minors under the age of 18 are allowed N$200,000 per year for holiday travel.
  • An annual allowance of N$10 million is allowed for business travel.
