Nedbank Namibia conducted key client engagements in Rundu and Katima Mulilo, reinforcing the bank's commitment to meaningful regional partnerships and ensuring that its 2026 strategy speaks directly to the needs of clients and communities across the country.

As part of its annual Managing Director Roadshow which spans all major towns across Namibia, the roadshow focuses on engaging employees, clients and local leaders through open dialogue, collaboration and a shared vision for growth. During the visits, the bank's Managing Director, Martha Murorua, highlighted the importance of recognising the distinctive strengths of each town and the invaluable role these strengths play in shaping the bank's service approach.

Speaking at the client event at Ngandu Lodge in Rundu, Murorua emphasised the town's character, resilience and economic vibrancy: 'Every time we come to Rundu, we are reminded of the strength of a community that works hard, supports one another and takes pride in its progress. We have walked alongside the people of Rundu for many years, supporting farmers, traders, small businesses, and families who are building stronger futures. Your priorities shape how we serve you.'

Murorua noted the creativity of local initiatives such as the Wapa Nawa Recycling Centre, which recently partnered with Nedbank through the Nedbank Team Challenge: 'Partnerships like these show the innovation that already exists within this region. When we invest in local ideas, we help create opportunities that uplift households while protecting the environment.'

As part of her remarks, she commended the leadership of the town's authorities and acknowledged the importance of structured collaboration between financial institutions and local government.

His Worship Councillor Andreas Jikerwa, Mayor of the Rundu Town Council, who delivered remarks on the day, commended Nedbank Namibia's contribution to the town's economy: 'Rundu as a rapidly growing urban centre in the region stands to benefit greatly from the bank's strong focus on community upliftment and economic empowerment.'

In Katima Mulilo, Murorua reflected on the town's unique economic rhythm and emphasised that Nedbank's role is to offer banking solutions that align with the pace, needs and opportunities of the Zambezi Region: 'Our commitment is to deliver service excellence – service where every client feels understood and supported. Because banking in Katima is not the same as banking in Windhoek or Keetmanshoop. Every town has its own ecosystem, and our strategy is designed to honour that.'

She expressed appreciation for the town's leadership, acknowledging their efforts in strengthening infrastructure and enabling economic activity.

Katima Mulilo Town Council Mayor, Councillor, Kabende Kabende, echoed Murorua's sentiments and added: 'As the town council, we remain committed to fostering a conducive and enabling environment for businesses and financial institutions to thrive. We welcome deeper collaboration with Nedbank in areas such as SME financing, youth empowerment programmes, and agricultural value chain support services that promote financial inclusion for all our residents.'
