Nedbank Citi Dash is back with a bang
23 July 2025
The Nedbank Citi Dash has been revitalised and re-energised for its 5th edition, with all the action set to unfold on 6 and 7 September 2025 at Vegkop Stadium at Windhoek High School.
The event was officially launched this morning in Windhoek at the Nedbank Campus. Speaking at the event, Nedbank Namibia Chief Commercial Officer, JG van Graan, said:
‘This year, once again, we’ve ensured that we curate a running experience that can go head-to-head with some of the best on the continent. We continue to innovate and have upgraded the race to keep up with international running trends. These include the new venue at WHS Vegkop Stadium, revamped 5km and 10km routes through the heart of Windhoek, as well as a LiveXpo that brings together health, sport, lifestyle, and outdoor living under one roof. But we are keeping the Nedbank Citi Dash’s unique aura, and once again we promise something for everyone - from elite runners chasing fast times to families coming out to create memorable moments with their loved ones.’
Van Graan added: ‘At Nedbank Namibia, we believe in creating opportunities for everyone to move forward - whether that’s on the road, on a trail, or in life. Our slogan, “Money experts who do good,” isn’t just a line we use in our marketing; it is a principle that guides how we show up in communities, how we design our products, and how we support events like this one.’
Nedbank Citi Dash race organiser, Frank Bombosch, mentioned: ‘We have over 3, 000 people that have already taken part in running events in Namibia and to stay ahead of the curve, we are expecting 5,000 people, which is very ambitious and we need all the help from the media and partners and sponsors to come on board and to activate groups, schools, communities to take part.’
On Saturday, 6 September, the action kicks off with the all-new LiveXpo - a buzzing race village at Vegkop Stadium packed with exhibitors, vendors, food stalls, drinks, music, and family entertainment. Whether you're racing or just soaking in the vibe, this is the perfect way to kick off the weekend - a celebration of health, lifestyle, and outdoor living in full festival style.
Then on Sunday, 7 September, Windhoek’s streets come alive with the main event - the Nedbank Citi Dash. The day features the elite 10 km race and the popular 5 km and 10 km fun run categories, welcoming everyone from elite athletes to everyday runners.
The elite race is set to attract the country's top 500 runners, with qualifying times of 55 minutes for men and 60 minutes for women. Top names like Rainhold Thomas, Simon Matias, Daniel Paulus, and Martha Shivolo - who boasts two consecutive wins - are expected to compete once again.
Entry fees are N$350 for elite runners and N$250 for fun run participants, with registration closing on 24 August 2025 via EasyReg. Group entry options are available for schools, clubs and companies.
To promote health and fitness among the youth, a special Schools Challenge has been launched. The top three schools with the highest number of finishers will win N$10,000, N$7,500, and N$5,000, respectively. Three additional schools stand a chance to win N$4,000 each simply by entering 20 athletes.
The event continues to play a key role in nurturing Namibia’s growing running culture, promoting health, inclusion, and excellence. It’s more than just a race - it’s a movement.
This year’s Nedbank Citi Dash is proudly powered by Nedbank Namibia alongside a team of event partners and co-sponsors which include; Checkers, Coca-Cola Namibia, Cycletec, NHP Namibia, DStv Namibia, Rent-a-Drum, Pupkewitz Megatech, Pupkewitz Megabuild, Pupkewitz Motors, and Altra Running Shoes.
Run. Move. Connect.
Join the movement. Be part of the future of running in Namibia.
