Nedbank for Good Series heads to the coast
24 August 2026
The highly anticipated Nedbank for Good Series coastal leg is set to get underway on 29 August 2026, ushering in 3 weeks of world-class amateur golf competition along Namibia's coastline before culminating on 12 September 2026.
Widely regarded as one of Namibia's premier amateur golf tournaments, the Nedbank for Good Series has made remarkable strides since its inception in 2020. What began as a purpose-driven golf initiative has evolved into a nationally recognised sporting platform that combines competitive golf with meaningful community impact. The tournament continues to attract growing participation and has become a fixture on the country's golfing calendar, with players eagerly seeking opportunities to secure their place in the various regional events. Since its launch, the series has raised close to N$1.5 million for charitable causes while reaching more than 70% of Namibia's golfing fraternity.
The 2026 coastal leg will comprise 3 events:
- Saturday, 29 August 2026 – Rossmund Golf Course, Swakopmund
- Saturday, 5 September 2026 – Walvis Bay Golf Club, Walvis Bay
- Saturday, 12 September 2026 – Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate, Henties Bay
Globally, golf continues to experience significant growth as more people embrace sport and active lifestyles. Increasingly recognised for its physical, mental, and social benefits, golf offers participants an opportunity to develop discipline, strategic thinking, networking opportunities, and lifelong friendships. The sport's unique ability to bring together people from diverse backgrounds has contributed to its rising popularity worldwide and continues to make it an attractive recreational and competitive activity.
The success of the Nedbank for Good Series mirrors this global trend, providing Namibian golfers with a professionally organised platform where competition is coupled with purpose. Through the series, participants not only enjoy access to some of the country's finest golf courses but also contribute to programmes that create meaningful change in communities across Namibia.
Nedbank Namibia Communications and PR Manager, Selma Kaulinge, says the continued growth of the series demonstrates the enduring appeal of sport as a force for social good: 'The Nedbank for Good Series has become one of the most anticipated fixtures on Namibia's sporting calendar. What started as a platform to combine sport and social impact has grown into a movement that brings together golfers and corporate partners around a shared purpose. The enthusiasm we continue to see from players across the country is a testament to the value and credibility the series has built over the years.'
Kaulinge adds that Nedbank's investment in the series forms part of the bank's broader commitment to sport development in Namibia: ‘As money experts who do good, we recognise the power of sport to unite communities, inspire healthy lifestyles, and create opportunities for social and economic development. The remarkable growth of the series demonstrates how purpose-driven sport can resonate with people. Every year we see increased participation, stronger partnerships, and greater awareness around the causes we support. That momentum is a reflection of the trust that players, clubs, and stakeholders have placed in the tournament over the years.’
For decades, Nedbank Namibia has championed the development of sport as a catalyst for nation-building and social cohesion. Beyond golf, the bank has played a meaningful role in the growth of several sporting codes, including netball, soccer, cricket, cycling, volleyball, and athletics, supporting athletes, competitions, and development programmes that create opportunities for greater participation and excellence at all levels of sport.
Series organiser, Dan Zwiebel, says the tournament's continued success is rooted in its ability to deliver exceptional golfing experiences while creating a lasting impact beyond the fairways: ‘What makes the Nedbank for Good Series special is that it has grown organically through the support of the golfing community. Every year the event becomes more competitive, inclusive, and impactful. The coastal leg is particularly popular because it combines outstanding golfing venues with a unique atmosphere that attracts players from across the country.‘
Zwiebel notes that the tournament has undergone significant growth over the years.
In addition to promoting the growth of golf in Namibia, the Nedbank for Good Series continues to support Agra ProVision, the current beneficiary of the tournament. Funds raised through the series contribute towards agricultural training and development initiatives that empower farmers and communities across Namibia through improved agricultural skills and knowledge.
Following the coastal leg, the series will continue as follows:
- Omeya Golf Club – 26 September 2026
- Grand Finale at Windhoek Golf Club – 13 November 2026
The series is supported by Nedbank Namibia as the title sponsor, Autohaus Windhoek as the official vehicle sponsor, Caltex Retail Namibia as the official fuel sponsor, Arebbusch Travel Lodge, JTC Namibia, Pupkewitz Megabuild, King Price Insurance, Maranatha Poultry, Namibia Wine Merchants, B2Gold, N/a’an ku sê Ecotourism Collection, AfricaOnline Namibia, AGRA, SCI Africa, and Radiowave FM.
