Nedbank for Good Series returns for 2025 edition
04 March 2025
The 2025 Nedbank for Good Series will tee off on 8 March at Omeya Golf Club. This year’s tournament proceeds will once again benefit Agra ProVision, a local organisation dedicated to professional training and is a division of Agra Limited. Agra ProVision provides expert advice and support in capacity development, basic farm management, poultry management, livestock management, and sustainable resource utilisation.
In 2024, the Nedbank for Good Series tournament raised N$250 000 towards Agra ProVision and its objectives of enhancing the knowledge, skills, and competence of all stakeholders in Namibia’s agricultural sector, including producers, service providers, development agents, and policymakers. Upon receiving the funding, Agra ProVision started with training and advisory services in addressing various existing and development needs, including business planning, specific infrastructure advisory services, farm assessments, and feasibility studies.
The training sessions took place at Groot Aub, Mariental, Gobabis and Oshakati between January and February 2025, with over 80 participants taking part in the different training locations. For the Oshakati training session, Agra ProVision collaborated with the National Disability Council of Namibia and identified trainees with physical disabilities and partial visual impairments, aligning with Agra ProVision’s objective of training and providing opportunities for all Namibians. The training sessions, which covered a variety of topics under free range poultry and horticulture production, were facilitated by agriculture specialists from Agra ProVision.
This years' Nedbank for Good Series will see three (3) new venues added to its roster, now hosting a total of 13 events in the different Namibian towns. Series organiser, Dan Zwiebel, says that the new venues will enable the tournament to reach more golf players.
'We are incredibly excited to expand the reach of the Nedbank for Good Series by adding the Okahandja, Grootfontein, and Outjo venues to the calendar. These new locations not only allow us to welcome more participants but also help us engage with even more communities in support of the series. Each venue offers unique challenges, and we can’t wait to see how this expansion enhances the tournament experience,' he says.
Nedbank Namibia has a long-standing commitment to supporting local communities, and this tournament is just one of the many ways the bank gives back. 'At Nedbank Namibia, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back,' says Nedbank Namibia Executive for Wealth Management and Bancassurance Biniam Ghirmatsion.
'As money experts who do good, partnering with Agra ProVision for a second year allows us to continue making a meaningful impact while fostering connections among our clients, employees and local businesses,' he continues.
The 2025 Nedbank for Good Series will take place as follows: Omeya Golf Club on 8 March, Oranjemund Golf Club on 26 April, Gobabis Golf Club on 10 May, Okahandja Golf Club on 17 May, Mariental Golf Club on 21 June, Oshakati Golf Club on 5 July, Tsumeb Golf Club on 19 July, Grootfontein Golf Club on 26 July, Outjo Golf Club on 2 August, Henties Bay Golf and Lifestyle Estate on 16 August, Rossmund Golf Course on 23 August, Walvis Bay Golf Club on 30 August, Windhoek Golf and Country Club on 13 September, and the final at Omeya Golf Club on 3 October.
